July 26, 2024Our family foundation has been able to realize High School educations for about 500 underprivileged young women the past five years.
They live in remote mountainous areas along the China and Laos frontiers. They are not Vietnamese speakers
They are lodged, fed and educated – only 2-3 dropped out for serious family or academic issues. Of our group, none went to early marriage or were trafficked to forced labor or exploitation.
They have now come as interns to our hotel. They are transported to a paradise, fed trained and clothed and given a stipend during the first months.
Their salaries meet the market. We provide a month or two of time off and a ticket home.
All three who started and made this film with us have returned and brought a friend along. Their days are rather fun: Comfortable dorms, good food, adult guides and- beach volleyball ocean swims and new friends.
The training expense is paid by Cassia Cottage, not billed to our own Foundation
The Mark and Thuy Barnett Family Foundation accepts donations, tax free to Americans, and Cassia Cottage, Phu Quoc island welcomes guests to enjoy the space and meet our wonderful staff.
