8:00 Yoga At Cassia Cottage

In such serene surroundings, start the day with a yoga session on Phu Quoc Island. At Cassia Cottage, our in-house yoga instructor, from California, offers zen-like sessions, where stretching and mindfulness meet. The only disturbance, around our Monsoon Pavillion, is the sound of nature. 

9:00 Breakfast On Ba Keo Beach

Head to Cassia Cottage’s The Spice House to start the day. With views across Cassia’s infinity pool (one of three pools at this Phu Quoc Resort) and out onto Ba Keo beach, breakfast offers the kind of treats you’d expect from a resort with so much spice trading heritage. There’s fresh pepper, homemade chilli sauce, and lots of fresh fruit direct from Phu Quoc’s farmers. The only challenge, in such tranquil surroundings, is leaving the calming clutches of the resort. 

11:00 A Trip To Duong Dong Town

If you do manage to stay motivated to explore, take a walk up this beatific strip of beach towards Duong Dong Town. If wandering along the golden sand gets too tiring, escape onto Tran Hung Dao Street and continue on to the island’s sleepy town center. 

There, refuel with a bowl of noodles at Bun Quay – Kien Xay. The local seafood noodle institution has rightfully become an essential stop during any day on the island. It’s fun too. That’s because you get to make your own bowl, stirring up some kumquat juice with chilli and assorted flavorings, before disappearing back to your table to wait impatiently for your buzzer to ring announcing your noodles are now ready. 

Afterwards, take a wander round the town. Across from Bun Quay – Kien Xay tourist boats bob in the harbor. And there’s a hush around town before the local residents start the nightly ritual of setting up the night market. 

15:00 Unmissable Phu Quoc Island Views

As the lunchtime heat subsides, take in some pre-sunset views of the town, the beach, and the turquoise sea beyond it. Chuồn Chuồn Bistro & Bar is a short walk back along the other side of Tran Hung Dao Street, although you might prefer to take a bike or taxi. The road up to Chuồn Chuồn Bistro & Bar is vertiginously steep. But, that’s how this hip little restaurant and bar can offer its spectacular views. There’s even a small gift shop at the entrance, if you need to stock up on goodies for your friends and colleagues back home. But don’t delay for too long, as you’ll want to spend as long as possible admiring Phu Quoc Island from this perfect vantage point.

16:00 Happy Hour At The Malabar 

Your pitstop at Chuồn Chuồn Bistro & Bar began the journey back to Cassia Cottage Resort Phu Quoc. Fortunately, you’ll be back in the warm arms of your island home just in time for the daily happy hour at The Malabar. Cassia Cottage’s open air bar has ice cold beers and some surprisingly good cocktails. And, in front, there’s benches and stools to take in the majesty of the sunset. Or, alternatively, recline in the garden in one of The Malabar’s welcoming cabanas and watch the sun sink beyond the skyline. 

19:00 Dinner Of Whole Snapper Or A Bucket Of Crabs

It’s evening now, and after freshening up you have options. Stick around at Cassia Cottage and have dinner at The Spice House. Depending on the day, there’ll be specials like whole red snapper with lemongrass, or Australian ribeye steak. And there’s also the usual, spice-infused menu of house signatures like Cassia Cottage Phu Quoc’s Khmer Style Fish or Mekong-Style Seafood. The Italian-centric wine list provides the perfect accompaniment to dinner in Phu Quoc beside the beach. 

Alternatively, head back into town and tuck into a sharing bucket of seafood at Crab House. There you get to tie on a bib, and relive your childhood as you get your hands dirty digging into bowls of mussels, crawfish and blue crabs. 

21:00 A Last Call For Cocktails

Still hungry for more Phu Quoc Island adventures? Make Bittersweet Cocktail Bar your last stop. The dapper bar team serves up the best classic cocktails on the island.
